Moving from Cal.com: event types and bookings

Bring Cal.com event types over as booking pages and sync its bookings into SIGNL, with what you set up again and what does not come.

What comes across

Cal.com moves in two ways: event types become booking pages, and bookings sync into SIGNL as leads and calls.

An event type comes across with its title, slug, description and length. Its buffers before and after, minimum notice, booking window and slot interval come with it when they are set. Its opening hours come from the linked schedule, with each day and time range carried over. Its custom booking questions come across, but Cal.com's own fields for location, guests, notes and reschedule reason do not, because SIGNL has its own. Every page gets Name and Email as locked questions ahead of yours. A page arrives inactive, never live.

Bring event types over

The event type import has no button yet. It runs as pnpm import:events with --source calcom, using a Cal.com API key, and it prints a dry run unless you add --apply. Run it again later and it updates the page it made before instead of adding a copy. Hidden event types go to the Archive folder, and the rest are filed in Sales Calls, Onboarding Calls or Client Calls from their names, so check each folder.

Bring bookings over

  1. In Cal.com, create an API key. For a self-hosted Cal.com, also enter your instance's https address.
  2. Connect Cal.com on the Integrations page.
  3. Open Imports, choose New import and pick Cal.com as the source.
  4. Give an event type ID, a team ID, or both.
  5. Work through Map, Preview and Import.

The person who booked is the first attendee, and SIGNL reads their name, email and phone. Answers to custom booking questions are read too. Each sync looks at the last 30 days of bookings, so a booking changed after that window is not updated. A booking with no uid is skipped, and SIGNL says so. Press Sync now on the source to run it again.

SIGNL's own notes say the API version used for bookings is inferred and not yet verified against a live account. Check the Preview carefully before you import.

What you set up again

  • Opening hours when a page has no schedule. SIGNL notes that it uses the Cal.com default schedule and leaves the hours for you.
  • Opening hours when the schedule is missing. SIGNL says the schedule was not found and leaves them empty.
  • Publishing. SIGNL refuses to publish a page with no available hours.
  • The choices on any select question. Check them on each page.

What it does not bring

Payments and seats are not mapped.

Undo

An import can be undone from its run. The confirmation says it deletes the leads, calls, payments and notes that import created, and keeps anything that already existed in SIGNL.
