What comes across from Google Sheets

SIGNL has a Google Sheets importer that reads one tab of one spreadsheet. The first row is read as the headers, and every row after it becomes a record to map onto leads, calls, payments and notes. Every record is tagged google-sheets. You can limit the import to a range written in A1 notation, such as A:F, or leave it blank to take the whole tab.

If you would rather not connect Google Sheets, download the tab as a CSV and upload it instead.

Steps in SIGNL

  1. Connect Google Sheets on the Integrations page.
  2. Open Import and sync, choose New import, then Google Sheets.
  3. If Google Sheets is not connected, the wizard says so and links you to Integrations.
  4. Name the source, then enter the Spreadsheet ID, which is the part of the sheet's address between /d/ and /edit.
  5. Enter the tab name, and a range if you want one.
  6. In Map, SIGNL suggests a mapping from your headers, and you change any of it.
  7. Map a column that is unique to each row, such as an email or an ID you added.
  8. Check the date order, time zone and currency, which start as month first, UTC and USD.
  9. In Preview, SIGNL shows what would happen to up to 50 rows without writing anything.
  10. Choose Start sync.

SIGNL matches people it already has, so running it again does not duplicate them.

Undo a run

Open the source and choose Undo this import. It deletes the leads, calls, payments and notes that run created, and keeps anything that already existed in SIGNL. Payments recorded under Stripe, Whop or another processor are never deleted.

What you set up again

Map your closer and outcome values in the panels that appear once those columns are mapped. Add any custom fields you need in SIGNL first, so they show up as targets.

What it does not bring

  • A row's position in the sheet is not used as its ID, so without an ID column an edited email or date imports that row as new.
  • Every sync reads the whole tab again, because there is no incremental option for sheets.
  • A tab is read up to 5,000 data rows. Beyond that the extra rows are skipped, and SIGNL warns you.
  • If two columns share a header, the later column wins.
  • A CSV upload is limited to 25 MB.
