Capture: forms, video sales letters and webinars

Build a form that qualifies as it collects, keep the people who stop halfway, and take leads from a hosted video or a webinar.

What Capture covers

Capture is how a lead first reaches you: a form, a video sales letter or a webinar registration. Each one goes through the same identity step, so the rest of SIGNL sees one lead however they came in.

Build a form

  1. Open Forms in a client workspace and choose New form.
  2. Start from a template, choose Import existing to bring a form over, or choose Describe it to write what the form should ask and open the Agent with your words ready to send.
  3. Add your questions on the Build tab, and check them with Preview.
  4. On the Workflow tab, add jump logic to skip ahead based on an answer, and qualification rules to decide which end screen a respondent sees.
  5. Choose what each ending does: show an end screen, redirect to a URL, or offer a booking with Book a call.
  6. In Settings, set the status to published.

A draft form is not visible to the public. Once a form is live, saving an edit keeps visitors on the published version until you press Publish changes, and Discard takes you back to the live version. A rule can test a number with is greater than or is less than, as well as equals, contains and is empty.

Keep the people who stop halfway

In Settings, turn on Keep unfinished answers to save what someone typed before they submit. An unfinished answer is not a submission, and it is deleted after 30 days. Turn on Capture leads on primary fields as well, and the visitor is identified as soon as those fields validate, before the rest of the form is done. A full submission later updates the same lead rather than adding a second one.

Ask for proof before they submit

Require email verification sends a 6-digit code that must be entered before the form can be submitted. Require phone verification does the same by text, and it is offered once the form has a phone question. Each costs you some completions in exchange for an address or number that is known to reach the person.

Put the form on your own site

On the Forms page, the Embed code button on a form's card opens a script tag, a direct iframe and a direct link, and the editor's Share tab shows the same three. To open the form as a popup instead, turn on Show as popup on your site in the form's settings. The popup opens over any page that has your SIGNL tracking script installed. It opens on exit intent, a scroll depth, time on page or a custom event your site sends, and you can limit how often a visitor sees it. Only a published form is ever offered as a popup, so a draft never appears on your site.

Host a video sales letter

  1. Open VSL and choose Upload a video, then give it a title, a URL slug and the file.
  2. When the video is ready, copy its shareable link, its embed snippet or a plain iframe.
  3. Add an email capture before it plays or when they leave, if you want the viewer as a lead.

A viewer who fills in the email capture becomes a lead through the same path a form uses, and the view is linked to them. The video's page shows retention across the whole video, with breakdowns by source, device and country.

Run a webinar

  1. Open Webinars and choose New webinar.
  2. Pick a mode: live with an external join URL, evergreen on scheduled replay, or just in time.
  3. For a replay, choose the source recording, then set session times and a timezone.
  4. Add a registration form, or leave it empty to use the built-in name, email and phone.

Registrants get email reminders before their session. On an evergreen or just-in-time webinar, offers, handouts, scarcity timers and chat lines can be revealed as the replay plays.

Where it stops

The SIGNL app is in the Zapier directory. Webhooks and the REST API work today for sending leads in from another tool.
