What comes across from Typeform

A Typeform form comes across as a SIGNL form. Its responses can be synced in separately from the form's ID. Questions, choices, endings and jumps come across, and anything that cannot is listed when the form lands. Most question types keep their type: short text, long text, email, phone, number, date, file upload and dropdown. Multiple choice shows its answers as buttons, as it did on Typeform, or becomes a multi select when more than one answer is allowed. Rating, opinion scale and NPS questions become rating questions with the same scale, and the words under its left and right ends come with them. A contact info or address question is split into its own fields, each keeping its own required setting, and they are still asked together on one screen. A question group is expanded into its questions. The form shows one question at a time, like Typeform. It keeps the Typeform's design: its colours, font, corners and logo, numbered questions, the progress line, its welcome screen and its time to complete. Bold and italic markers are taken out of question text. A statement screen comes across as a statement: its words on their own screen with a Continue button, in the same place. The welcome screen becomes the form's start screen, with its title, its text and a Start button. An Other choice becomes an Other option that opens its own text box.

Jumps are carried by where they point. A conditional jump to an ending becomes a jump to that end screen, an unconditional jump to an ending becomes the default ending, and a conditional jump to a later question becomes a skip. A thank-you screen's redirect URL becomes the screen's button link. Only the form's redirect-after-submit setting becomes a redirect ending.

Move the form

  1. Open Forms in the client workspace and choose New form.
  2. Choose Import existing, then Typeform link.
  3. Name the form and paste its public link, which looks like https://yourname.typeform.com/to/AbC123.
  4. The form arrives as a draft so you can see what came across before anyone sees it.

For a private or closed form, choose Typeform JSON instead and paste the form definition from api.typeform.com/forms/ followed by the form's ID. A link to a form that is private, closed or password protected is refused, because the page carries no definition.

Bring the responses

  1. Connect Typeform on the Integrations page with a personal access token.
  2. Open Import and sync, choose New import, then Typeform.
  3. Name the source and enter the Form ID from the form's address.
  4. In Map, the Typeform response ID is set as the external ID for you, and each answer arrives as a column named after its question.
  5. In Preview, SIGNL shows what would happen to up to 50 rows without writing anything.
  6. Choose Start sync.

Responses are mapped onto lead, call, payment and note fields. To reverse a run, open the source and choose Undo this import. It deletes what that run created and keeps anything that already existed in SIGNL.

What you set up again

SIGNL qualifies leads with its own rules, so add them in the form's Logic tab. Set the form's status to published when you are happy with it. Put it on your site with the Embed code button on the Forms page.

What it does not bring

  • Score and variable changes in Typeform logic are not imported, and SIGNL says how many it skipped.
  • A jump back to an earlier question is dropped with a warning, because jumps only go forward.
  • A form that published no logic arrives without branching, and SIGNL warns you.
  • A payment question becomes a short text question.
  • Responses do not appear as submissions on the imported form, because there is no mapping target for submissions.
