Moving from Calendly: event types and bookings
What SIGNL reads from a Calendly event type, how new bookings arrive once you connect, and what you set up again by hand.
Updated 2 October 2026
What comes across
SIGNL has a converter that turns a Calendly event type into a booking page draft. It reads the event type's name, slug, length, plain description and custom questions. Custom questions that are switched off are left out. Calendly's multi-line text becomes a long text question, single-line text becomes text, a phone number becomes phone, and single or multiple select become a select with the same choices. Every page also gets Name and Email as locked questions ahead of yours. The page arrives inactive, filed in Archive, with a note saying so. If the slug is already taken in the workspace, SIGNL adds a number to it.
How it runs today
There is no Calendly import button.
The converter runs from the pnpm import:events script with --source calendly, and that script holds one event type written into it, so it cannot read yours.
The Imports page does not offer Calendly as a source, because that connector is deliberately not built.
In practice, rebuild each event type under Events, using the list above as your checklist.
The script runs the same way for every source: it prints a dry run first and writes only when you add --apply.
Running it again updates the page it made before rather than adding a copy.
Connect Calendly for new bookings
- In Calendly, create a personal access token.
- Paste it into the Calendly integration in SIGNL and save. SIGNL checks it and creates its own Calendly webhook.
From then on SIGNL records a booking when an invitee is created and handles a cancellation when one arrives. A call that is moved is recognised as a reschedule, not only as a cancellation. Bookings made before you connect are not pulled in, because there is no Calendly sync.
What you set up again
- Opening hours. A converted page has every day switched off, so nobody can book it yet.
- Publishing. SIGNL refuses to publish a booking page that has no available hours, so set them first.
- Recent edits. Compare the draft with your live Calendly page before you switch it on.
What it does not bring
Only the fields listed under What comes across are read. Your hours, your other event types and your past bookings are not part of that list, so move them by hand or let new bookings arrive through the webhook.
